Sunday WorldSBK Race Two
Despite the injured right lower leg from a training injury on a bike shortly before the Donington round, Toprak Razgatlioglu’s endurance proved a match for his pace as he took his third race win of the weekend in a full-distance 23-lap Race Two at Donington Park.
He was only eight seconds ahead of the second placed rider in this event, with Nicolo Bulega (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati) the runner-up.
Third, after a battle in the Superpole race earlier in the day, was hometown rider Alex Lowes (Kawasaki Racing Team) who took his second podium of the weekend and his sixth of the year.
You shouldn’t be able ti win by this much in a world championship event but Razgatlioglu did in race two.
The pace of the top three was regularly in the 1’26s, with Razgatlioglu securing yet another new lap record of 1’25.597.
Lowes had to fight to displace Scott Redding (Bonovo Action BMW) from a potential podium place, but he ended up in fourth anyway, just over two seconds back from a trophy.
Fifth was a demotivated but still full-commitment Alvaro Bautista (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati). Danilo Petrucci (Barni Spark Racing Ducati) had a great ride for sixth place, passing Andrea Locatelli (Pata Yamaha Prometeon WorldSBK Team) and Jonathan Rea (Pata Yamaha Prometeon WorldSBK Team) with the latter in eight place.
Dominique Aegerter (GRT Yamaha) was an aggressive ninth and Axel Bassani (Kawasaki Racing Team) worked his way to tenth place from a 16th place on the starting grid.
In the championship points, Razgatlioglu leads on 241, Bulega has an even 200, Bautista 186 and Lowes 165.
Next round? In a few day time, at Most in the Czech Republic.

Sunday WorldSSP Race Two
Adrian Huertas (Aruba Racing Ducati) won yet another WorldSSP race, but this time it was an unusual victory in that another rider crossed the line first but was penalised to drop one place after touching the green paint.
And that was just the late drama in the actual race itself.
The first attempted running saw an early drama with a four rider crash, which brought out the red flag that called for a completely restarted race – over 12 laps not the original 19.
Huertas came out on top of a proper fight in race two.
Yari Montella (Barni Spark Racing Team Ducati) had a battling win taken from him on the green paint of T9, and Huertas duly took his sixth race win of 2024 in ten attempts.
With Montella second the resurgent Jorge Navarro (Orelac Racing VerdNatura Ducati) took a podium finish, his first on the Ducati.
Stefano Manzi (Ten Kate Racing Yamaha) was the first off-podium finisher, with local rider Tom Booth-Amos (PTR Triumph) in fifth place.
Niki Tuuli (EAB Racing Ducati) was sixth, Glenn van Straalen (Ten Kate Racing Yamaha) seventh and a busy Valentin Debise (Evan Bros. WorldSSP Yamaha) eighth.
Oli Bayliss (D34G Racing Ducati) had another good ride to ninth and the top ten was rounded out by Lucas Mahias (GMT94 Yamaha).
In the championship Huertas is 25 points ahead of Montella, 186 to 161, with Manzi on 147.
Autodrom Most, in the Czech Republic, is next up – and coming very soon for the WorldSSP riders – between 19-21 July.

Sunday WorldWCR Race Two
Maria Herrera (Klint Forward Factory Team) and her Spanish rival Ana Carrasco (Evan Bros Racing Yamaha Team) had a close duel throughout the second 12-lap WorldWCR race at Donington.
Herrera would eventually win out but only after rebuffing a last lap Melbourne Loop attempted pass from Carrasco, which Herrera defended with an attack on the cut-back.
Herrera (6) took her second win of the year in race two.
Behind the top two was another Spanish battle, with Sara Sanchez (511 Terra&Vita Racing Team) overcoming Beatriz Neila (Ampito / Pata Prometeon Yamaha) to take third.
Ran Yochay (511 Terra&Vita Racing Team) won her personal battle with Tayla Relph (TAYCO Motorsport).
In the championship Herrera leads Carrasco by seven points, 88 to 81, with the next nearest challenger Sanchez on 68.

Saturday WorldSBK Race One
Toprak Razgatlioglu (ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team) started from pole and was never headed as he ended up winning a 23-lap Race One at Donington by a massive 11 seconds.
His early shadow in the first few laps was the resurgent Scott Redding (Bonovo Action BMW) who eased his way to second after starting from the front row. He would run off track twice at high speed entering the chicane and eventually have to retire with a technical issue.
The second podium spot went to ninth place qualifier Alex Lowes (Kawasaki Racing Team) who took his fifth podium at Donington Park, and his fifth podium this season.
Toprak Razgatlioglu looked like he ws out for a Saturday stroll in race one.
Alvaro Bautista (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati) came through to take third place from a lowly 11th place on the grid.
Nicolo Bulega (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati) looked on course for a podium place until he was passed by Lowes, and then his own team-mate Bautista, and even running on at the chicane on one lap.
Jonathan Rea (Pata Yamaha Prometeon WorldSBK Team) qualified eighth and rode with a deal of conviction and confidence to fifth position at the end, just ahead of his seemingly out-of-sorts team-mate, Andrea Locatelli (Pata Yamaha Prometeon WorldSBK Team).
Danilo Petrucci (Barni Spark Racing Ducati) was held in seventh by Locatelli, with Dominique Aegerter (GRT Yamaha) over seven seconds back from the Italian rider, and in eighth place.
Michael van der Mark (ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team) placed ninth and the top ten was rounded out by fastest man in FP3 in the morning, Remy Gardner (GRT Yamaha). Another tough day for Honda saw Iker Lecuona (HRC Honda) 13th and some 30 seconds behind the race winner Razgatlioglu, after 23-laps of the Donington Park circuit.

Saturday WorldSSP Race One
To no-one’s surprise Adrian Huertas (Aruba Racing Ducati) converted his pole position start into the first race win at Donington, in a contest that went for the full 19 laps.
He would win by a giant 4.679 seconds from the perennial top Yamaha rider, Stefano Manzi (Ten Kate Racing Yamaha).
Easy peazy for Adrian Huertas in race one for WorldSSP.
Right behind Manzi was Yari Montella (Barni Spark Racing Team Ducati) in third place, keeping up his championship challenge on Huertas.
The rapid progression of Jorge Navarro (Orelac Racing VerdNatura Ducati) since he took over some Panigale V2 power saw him finish fourth, with Valentin Debise (Evan Bros. WorldSSP Yamaha) fifth – and still only just over six seconds from the runaway winner Huertas.
Bahattin Sofuoglu (MV Agusta Reparto Corse F3 800 RR) placed sixth and was the top MV finisher, while local rider on a local bike, Tom Booth-Amos (PTR Triumph), ended up seventh.
Aussie rider Oli Bayliss (D34G Racing Ducati) was eighth, Niki Tuuli (EAB Racing Ducati) a penalised ninth, and former World Champion Lucas Mahias (GMT94 Yamaha), tenth. Bayliss’ team-mate Tom Edwards (D34G Racing Ducati) was 11th, after starting 13th on the grid.
Race Two will take place on Sunday 14 July.

Saturday WorldWCR Race One
Former WorldSSP300 champion Ana Carrasco (Evan Bros Racing Yamaha Team) ended up being the first race winner at Donington after overcoming the strong challenge of Maria Herrera (Klint Forward Factory Team) and two other Spanish riders.
Herrera led five laps of the 12: Carrasco seven, and finally the most important one at the end. Giving here a margin of victory of 0.511 seconds – and not over Herrera.
Carrasco (22) came home half a second up on Neila (36). Herrera (6) dropped to fourth.
Beatriz Neila (Ampito / Pata Prometeon Yamaha) was the runner-up and Sara Sanchez (511 Terra&Vita Racing Team) third, keeping Herrera off the podium in fourth place. Another tight race in the all-new class for 2024, but once again mostly between the same group of Spanish riders.
Roberta Ponziani (Yamaha Motoxracing WCR Team) caught up to the leading four but then slipped back to finish fifth. Aussie rider Tayla Relph (TAYCO Motorsport) was in sixth place for some time, but eventually ninth.
America Mallory Dobbs (Sekhmet Motorcycle Racing Team) crashed out near the end after another rider collided with her, and she restarted to finish 17th. One more Donington race to go on Sunday.

Friday WorldSBK
Toprak Razgatlioglu (ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team) dominated both Free Practice sessions at Donington Park to lead the 23-strong field overnight.
His best lap of 1:26.013 was just under the race lap record and less than a couple of tenths away from the track best for the WorldSBK class.
Danilo Petrucci (Barni Spark Racing Ducati) was a strong second, albeit 0.222 seconds away from Toprak’s top time.
Toprak Razgatlioglu was on the money at Donington Park on Friday.
Nicolo Bulega (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati) was third fastest and a sliver behind Petrucci, with a lap time just 0.003 seconds slower than his fellow Italian.
Alex Lowes (Kawasaki Racing Team) was a very close fourth and top Kawasaki runner, despite a slow crash in FP2.
Scott Redding (Bonovo Action BMW) came back to form in front of his home fans, as he found more rewards from some set-up work at Misano.
Alvaro Bautista (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati) was an ever-smiling but disappointed sixth.
Andrea Locatelli (Pata Yamaha Prometeon WorldSBK Team) was the top Yamaha runner in seventh place. The top ten was completed by ex-factory Ducati rider Michael Ruben Rinaldi (MotoCorsa Racing Ducati), another UK rider in Sam Lowes (ELF Marc VDS Ducati) and the second factory Ninja of Axel Bassani (Kawasaki Racing Team). Jonathan Rea (Pata Yamaha Prometeon WorldSBK Team) was 12th.

Adrian Huertas (Aruba Racing Ducati) held off another Ducati WorldSSP rider, Yari Montella (Barni Spark Racing Team Ducati) to take the pre-race Superpole ‘win’ in the WorldSSP class at Donington Park.
The first Yamaha R6 in the Race One ranking belonged to proven WorldSSP force Stefano Manzi (Pata Yamaha Ten Kate) in third place, followed by Frenchman Valentin Debise (Evan Bros. WorldSSP Yamaha). Manzi was over half a second back from Huertas.
Huertas topped WorldSSP on Friday.
Former World Champion Lucas Mahias (GMT94 Yamaha) was fifth. A mid-season change of manufacturer is already paying off for Jorge Navarro (Orelac Racing VerdNatura Ducati) who was sixth overall.
Tom Booth-Amos (PTR Triumph) was the fastest UK rider in seventh place, with Niki Tuuli (EAB Racing Ducati) eighth.
The top MV triple rider was Bahattin Sofuoglu (MV Agusta Reparto Corse F3 800 RR), with Glenn van Straalen (Ten Kate Racing Yamaha) rounding out the top 10.

Friday WorldWCR
Ana Carrasco (Evan Bros Racing Yamaha Team) added her name to the FIM Women’s Circuit Racing World Championship history books after taking her maiden pole position in the class. The #22 will head the grid for Race One with 0.839s separating the front row.
Ana Carrasco claimed the WorldWCR pole at Donington.
Joining Carrasco on the front row will be Maria Herrera (Klint Forward Factory Team), who was unable to make it a second competitive pole in 2024 but will start from second on the grid. The #6 missed out on pole position by a mere 0.532s and will start ahead of Sara Sanchez (511 Terra&Vita Racing Team), who rounds off the second row of the grid. Sanchez set 14 laps across the Superpole session, continuing a consistent start to the 2024 season.
Fourth place on the grid will be occupied by Yamaha Motoxracing WCR Team’s Roberta Ponziani, who put in a late 1:41.728 to place ahead of Beatriz Neila (Ampito / Pata Prometeon Yamaha). The #36 had an eventful session with a crash at Turn 8 with less than 15 minutes to go but would return to track for the end of the session. Meanwhile, Tayla Relph (TAYCO Motorsport) continues a fantastic weekend at Donington Park, finishing Superpole in P6.
